BroPact Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
BroPact is a badminton scoring app for people who already play together. It keeps the score of your matches and, once both sides confirm a result, keeps that result as a shared record. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
What BroPact collects
- Account and sign-in. An internal account identifier and the sign-in details for the method you choose — Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. If you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email, we only ever receive Apple’s private relay address. Authentication is handled by our cloud provider.
- Profile. Your display name, unique username, a friend code, an optional profile photo, and an optional age. Your age is stored privately and is not shown to other players.
- Friends and Pacts. Invitations you send or accept, your friend connections, anyone you block, the Pacts you belong to, and the activity entries that make those features work.
- Matches and scores. The match days you organise, the court or venue you choose for them, who was on the roster, every rally recorded during a match, the final result, and the rating derived from confirmed results.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, a device token from Apple so we can tell you when a result is waiting for your confirmation.
- Safety. Reports you submit about another player, including the reason you give.
- Device integrity. Anonymous cryptographic assertions from Apple’s App Attest, used to check that scores come from a genuine copy of the app. These contain no personal information.
- Service and security records. The limited technical records needed to authenticate requests, keep the service reliable, and prevent abuse.
Permissions, and what each one is actually for
BroPact asks for a permission only at the moment a feature needs it. Every one of these is optional — the app works without them.
- Location. Only when you search for nearby badminton courts. Your location is used to run that search and is not stored on our servers or collected in the background. What we save is the court you pick, not where you were.
- Camera. Only when you scan another player’s Court presence code.
- Nearby Interaction and Local Network. Only while two players confirm they are at the same court together.
- Notifications. Only to tell you about something that needs you — most often a match result waiting for your confirmation.
What BroPact does not do
- No advertising, and no sharing of your information for advertising.
- No selling of personal information.
- No third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising software in the app.
- No access to Apple Health, your contacts, or your photo library beyond a photo you choose to upload.
- No background location tracking.
What other people can see
Your display name, username, profile photo, and match results are visible to the players you are connected with — the people in your Pacts and on your friends list. Your email address and your age are never shown to other players.
Shared match records
A BroPact result only becomes part of the record when both sides confirm it. That is the point of the app: the score is one you agreed on. It also means a completed result belongs to the other player’s history as much as to yours, so a confirmed result is kept even if you later delete your account — with your name removed, as described below.
Who processes your information
BroPact uses contracted providers to run the service, principally Supabase for hosting, database, storage, and authentication. Apple provides Sign in with Apple, push notification delivery, and App Attest. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
On your iPhone, your session credentials are stored in the Apple Keychain, and your profile photo is kept on the device as well as in private cloud storage.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. You can also email admin@bropact.in.
Deleting removes your profile, your username, your photo, your friend connections, and your sign-in credentials. Matches you played remain in the other players’ history, because those results were confirmed by them too — but you appear in them only as “Deleted player”, with your name and profile removed.
We may keep limited records where we are required to for security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons. If that applies to a request, we will say so when we answer it.
Keeping people safe
You can block another player, and you can report a player from their profile. Reports reach us directly and we act on them. Because BroPact is built around people who already play together, connections are made by invitation rather than by public discovery.
Children
BroPact is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
